The problem when i try and press the brake peddle to then press the start button the peddle will not move and there for can't start the car, the dash lights up but it wont start the engine, i eventually found by pressing very hard on the brake peddle it finally had movement and now was able to push the button to start the engine, this is a hit and miss problem, it has. The brake would not depress whatsoever, and pushing the start button wouldn't even launch the radio or internal car lights (which normally it will do without depressing the brake). If the voltage is fine but the lights dim and the car won't start its very likely your battery is worn out and needs replacing. Sometimes the brake pedal does not feel right and the car will not. I'm suspecting that the op has a vacuum leak somewhere.
